7th Annual Walkathon

The Walkathon is Sherwood’s biggest fundraiser of the year and a very important and fun event! Please take a few minutes to read the information provided below so that you are up to speed and don’t miss out on anything!

Per Student Pledge Goal of $60 – Total School Goal of $25,000+!

The Sherwood PSO is raising money to help fund new technology for classrooms; safety/crossing guard program; teacher supplies/discretionary fund; field trip transportation; community building/social events (i.e., end of year BBQ and back to school night); and assemblies, as well as other PSO sponsored activities. If we reach our goal this year, the PSO will earmark funds to be spent on a Pacific Science Center experience for the entire school!

The Kickoff Assembly was held on Thursday, September 23rd. Students received a Walkathon t-shirt and their collection envelopes. Note: Donations are requested in flat amounts (not per lap).

Students Earn 1 ticket for every $10 they turn inThe more $ turned in, the more raffle tickets students earn. Students are encouraged to turn in their Walkathon packets (with donations) before school to earn raffle tickets for the Daily Raffle and Grand Prize Drawing. Walkathon water bottles will be handed out to students the first time they turn in their envelopes. Note: classroom sponsor students also earn tickets for the Grand Prize Drawing.

Daily Raffle and Grand Prize Drawing: We have procured many prizes to be raffled off during Walkathon week (via the Daily Raffle) and at the Awards Ceremony (via the Grand Prize Drawing).

Daily Raffle – 10/3-10/6: Turn in collected donations daily starting Monday, 10/3 at 9am and ending on Thursday, 10/6. For every $10 you collect, you earn one raffle ticket, so the more donations you turn in, the more raffle tickets you will earn!

What can you win?

  • Monday October 3 –  (4) Admission tickets to Edmonds Movie Theater, Pizza and bowling Certificate (Lynnwood Bowl & Skate), $10 GC to Edmonds Bookshop
  • Tuesday, October 4 –  Seahawks football signed by #25 Richard Sherman, Mariner’s socks & wrist ban
  • Wednesday, October 5 –  Pacific Science Center Family Pack (4 admission and 4 IMAX tickets), $10 GC to Canarino Gelato
  • Thursday, October 6 –  Sounders Prize (Pennant from #6 Osvaldo Alonso), $20 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods

All raffle tickets are also placed into the drawing for a variety of prizes, including the Great Wolf Lodge GRAND PRIZE: a 1-night stay, 4 water park passes and a $360 voucher!

NEW WALKATHON PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT! Students who raise $250 or more get entered into a separate drawing to win Four (1) day Park Hopper passes to Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks in California. Students will earn 1 raffle ticket for every $250 they raise. T-shirt sponsor donations count.

*Drawing for grand prizes will be held during Awards Assembly on 10/14/16.

COMMUNITY WALK RAFFLE! In addition to the free Community Walk drawing, we will be holding a separate raffle where families can purchase tickets and enter to win some amazing prizes, including: a sailing trip with Christi Kessler; a framed and autographed Seahawks photograph; a Seahawks sweater from Rogue; a Best of Edmonds package; and more! You buy the tickets and decide which prizes you want to enter to win. Look for the parents selling tickets during the Community Walk. Tickets will be sold for (1) for $1; (6) for $5 or (14) for $10. You must be present to win. Cash, Check and Credit Cards will be accepted. 

Friday 10/7 Walkathon!

Kids wear their Walkathon t-shirt to school.

  • School Health Walk-  2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Community Walk – 5:30-6:30p.m.
  • Free Pizza/Salad Dinner – 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Families, join us for the Community Walk and Free Pizza and Salad dinner from 5:30-7:30PM. Participate in the Community Walk and your lap card becomes your entry to win a variety of prizes announced during the dinner.

Tuesday 10/12 – Final day to turn in donations to earn raffle tickets for the Grand Prize

Thursday 10/14 – Awards Ceremony (see Grand Prize Drawing) info.

Top 2 selling classrooms will earn $100 to spend as they wish! Prizes for top 3 individual winners! Medals for top laps per grade!

Supervision: Parents will be responsible for supervising their own children during the Community Walk. There will be NO supervision at this time. We hope all of you can join us!

Safety: While you are collecting pledges, please remember SAFETY FIRST! Your child should wear their Sherwood Walkathon t-shirt to identify them as a Sherwood student.
